SEATTLE – Through a new partnership, customers enrolled in the Starbucks Rewards loyalty program can link that account to their Lyft account and receive Stars for each morning ride now until November 9.

Starbucks customers who use Lyft for the first time will receive 125 Stars (which Gold members can redeem for a free food or beverage item) after linking their Starbucks Rewards and Lyft accounts; and then receive 5 Stars for each additional ride taken during their morning commutes, Monday through Friday from 5 am to 10 am.

According to a press release, Starbucks says that it is committed to providing the most robust digital ecosystem of any retailer in the world, and that this partnership is the latest example of how the company finds new platforms to engage and stay connected with its customers.

Earlier this year Starbucks changed how customers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico earn rewards through its loyalty program. Now, customers earn two stars for every $1 spent on coffee, food, drinks and merchandise, rather than one star per transaction.
