USA Today yesterday opened voting for its 2024 Reader’s Choice 10Best awards. Voting is now open for “favorite gas station brand” and “favorite gas station for food.” Readers can vote for their favorite gas station brand, as well as their favorite gas station to visit for food, once per day now through Monday, May 6.Here are few of the nominees for “favorite gas station brand” and why the panelists nominated them:

Casey’s General Stores was included for its “selection of offerings made in-store, including sandwiches and pizza (their breakfast pizza is particularly popular).”

Maverik is a bit like an outdoor adventure store disguised as a gas station, according to USA Today. It is known for their outdoorsy vibe and “top-notch food (try the breakfast burrito)”.

Sapp Bros. Travel Centers has 17 full-service travel centers. Its locations provide full-service tire centers, oil change services and a variety of quick-service food, full-service cafes and buffet restaurants.

As USA Today noted, gas stations, convenience stores and truck stops are more than just a place to grab a quick bite on the go—"They're serving up delicious food and snacks that make them destinations in and of themselves, from fried chicken and pizza to organic salads and veggie burritos.”

USA Today teamed up with a “panel of seasoned road warriors” to highlight their 20 favorite gas station stops for food across the United States.

Here are a few of the nominees for “favorite gas station for food.”

Kwik Trip was included for its bakery, which serves bread, muffins, cookies, bagels and doughnuts, in addition to the c-store’s lineup of burritos, pizza, salads, soups and fried chicken.

United Dairy Farmers was nominated for its selection of eats, which ranges from “fresh-baked doughnuts to grilled hot dogs to tasty treats like classic chocolate malts and hand-dipped ice cream.”

Rutter’s, which features a foodservice counter that’s open all hours, serves a variety of items from seafood and burgers to pizza and subs, in addition to a full breakfast menu and a children’s menu, USA Today noted.

The top 10 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 15. Last year, Kwik Trip/Kwik Star took home the top gas station brand award while Maverik earned the top spot for gas station food.
