Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. won the 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA) for the third year in a row, the company announced in a press release.

The award recognizes the world’s most “engaged” workplace cultures, measuring the ratio of engaged employees that are committed to their work and connected to their workplace, to actively disengaged employees. Worldwide, only 23% of employees are engaged and just 33% of employees in the U.S. workforce are engaged, according to Gallup. The 60 winning companies’ ratio is 11 times higher than the global average, and 70% of employees at winning GEWA organizations are engaged.

“Creating a great experience for our customers begins with having engaged teams. Our annual myVOICE engagement survey, facilitated by Gallup, helps us continue improving in our efforts to foster an environment where our people can thrive, grow in their careers and be their authentic selves,” said Ina Strand, chief people officer at Couche-Tard, in the statement. “With record participation in this past year’s survey, we’re honored that our investment in our employees' growth and engagement has been recognized with the GEWA for a third consecutive year.”

Also for the third consecutive year, the Wills Group received Great Place to Work certification, with an employee satisfaction rating of 87%. At 87%, the Wills Group said it scores 30 points higher than typical U.S. retailers.

Elsewhere, Global Partners was named to Fortune Magazine’s 2024 list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, ranking 7th in the Diversified Wholesalers category. To make the Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies List, companies must rank in the top half of an industry survey of corporate executives, board directors and analysts for attributes such as their ability to attract and retain talented people, management quality, social responsibility, innovativeness and quality of products or services.

“I’m so proud of our whole Global team for earning this distinction,” said Eric Slifka, Global Partners LP president and CEO in a statement. “It reflects how hard we’ve been working to deliver the energy our communities need to grow, move and thrive—and how committed we are to leading the way to a sustainable energy future.”
