Convenience retailer Sheetz announced plans to hire 2,200 new employees across its 720 locations during a hiring event on March 27, reported the Pittsburgh Business Times.

Sheetz will hold in-person interviews at its stores across the six states it operates in—Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland—from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the 27th.

In Pennsylvania, the company plans to hire up to 800 employees for its 300-plus stores. The company plans to add 430 employees across its 100 locations in Ohio.

Prospective employees will need to apply for a store position online before arriving at the event. Individuals then can check in at the cash register to begin the interview process. Additional information about the hiring events can be found online on the company’s Facebook page.

Sheetz said it offers employees medical and dental benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan, vacation time, and 12 weeks of paid maternity leave.

Additionally, GPM Investments, a subsidiary of ARKO Corp., announced that it is ramping up its hiring initiative with plans to hire 1,500 employees. This initiative is aimed at prepping for the summer selling season.

According to the company, “The new hiring initiative underscores the company’s dedication to building a robust team in preparation for the peak selling season while promoting growth opportunities for career-minded individuals.”

“We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey of growth,” Veronica Donchez, senior vice president of human resources said. “Our diverse team members are at the heart of everything we do, and this initiative represents our commitment to attracting the best and brightest minds to join us in shaping the future of our industry.”

The hiring initiative encompasses a wide range of positions from those in the stores to those in various departments within the company for career-minded associates.

Other companies, including Casey’s, Wawa and Love’s, also announced plans this month to ramp up hiring ahead of the summer season.
