DUXBURY, Mass. – Verc Enterprises, a convenience store, Mobil/Gulf fuel retailer and car wash operator with locations throughout eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire, has been named to the Boston Globe Top Places to Work list for 2016.

Verc was recognized as one of 125 companies in Massachusetts that offer the most rewarding work experiences based on a survey taken by its employees this past summer. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, salary, benefits and engagement.

The company appeared in a special Top Places to Work magazine, published in the November 20 edition of the Boston Globe. Barry Ahern, director of operations and human resources at Verc, accepted the award on behalf of the company at a November 17 ceremony.

“We’re honored to be a recipient of this prestigious recognition from the Boston Globe—one we have received four times—and proud that we have created the type of working environment that is worthy of our being named a best place to work,” said Ahern.

“In today’s tight market, competition for the best workers is intense,” said Larry Edelman, the Globe’s business editor. “Our winning companies know that creating a motivating and supportive environment is key to finding and keeping talent.”
