In honor of Earth Day, the Love’s Family of Companies shared its efforts to be part of a more sustainable future for customers, team members, and communities. Here are some ways the retailer said it is contributing on Earth Day and beyond:

  • Love’s recycles the excess rubber from its retread tires into materials for playgrounds and asphalt, turning waste into valuable resources.
  • Love’s Truck Washes capture 30% of the water used during a wash, which is then retreated and used for undercarriage wash and initial rinse water.
  • Over the past year, Love’s Truck Care and Speedco have saved more than 2.6 million sheets of paper, primarily through the integration of the Shop Connect C.O.R.E. system.
  • Love’s is reducing its carbon footprint with 10 solar-powered travel stop locations across the United States.

Trillium, a member of the Love's Family of Companies, is a leading developer of alternative fueling system design and is the second largest distributor of compressed natural gas (CNG) in the country, delivering more than 80 million gallons each year, the LinkedIn post said.

Sheetz also posted its efforts on Earth Day via LinkedIn featuring EV Project Engineer Emily, who shared some of the retailer’s latest steps toward a more eco-friendly future such as LED lighting, alternative refrigerants, advanced building controls and water conservation measures that “reduce Sheetz’ environmental impact and promote a greener operational footprint”.

In addition, the post highlights Sheetz noted its DC fast chargers at 107 locations across six states and offering E85flex fuel and E15 gasoline at 450 stores.
