RaceTrac has selected Blue Yonder for its “digital transformation in warehousing operations and transportation modeling capabilities.” The companies announced that the retailer will implement several Blue Yonder supply chain execution solutions to meet RaceTrac’s growth plans with the goal of improving warehouse capabilities, labor management, and network performance. Open Sky Group, Blue Yonder’s partner, will implement the project.

“We needed a solution that would allow us to not only improve our basic system functionality but allow us to meet the needs of our growing business,” said Daniel Vasseur, executive director, merchandise supply chain, RaceTrac. “We knew Blue Yonder could provide the end-to-end capabilities that we needed to digitally transform our operations and allow us to grow as our business and customer needs changed. Having worked with them for more than 20 years in the category management space, we are looking forward to implementing these—and future—solutions with them.”

According to a press release, with Blue Yonder, RaceTrac will be able to support geographic expansion initiatives, automate supply chain execution processes, synchronize warehouse execution and provide early visibility to demand and corresponding labor requirements, among other efficiencies.

Sheetz’s dedicated carrier, CLI Transport LP, is partnering with Gravitate for its AI-powered supply and dispatch platform, bringing a new suite of supply optimization, logistics automation, auto-dispatch, and order generation to its operations.

With Gravitate, “Sheetz will be able to auto-generate optimal orders for site replenishment, source orders in real-time, and automatically allocate loads for in-house drivers, saving dispatchers time and minimizing deadhead miles and the overall costs of trucks and drivers.”

Tom Hunt, Gravitate's vice president of sales, noted, "We are already seeing indicators that Gravitate will help reduce CLI Transport's deadhead miles by 2-5%, help to make more dynamic supply decisions and increase the efficiency of dispatchers. We are extremely proud that a best-in-class operator like CLI Transport selected Gravitate to power their business into the future."

This single-phase project is projected to be completed by the fall of 2024.

Sheetz has more than 700 locations across the United States, with plans to reach 1,000 sites in the next five years. In 2022, Sheetz announced its plans to build over 20 stores in Dayton, Ohio, and open its first Michigan store in Detroit by the end of the year.
