SYRACUSE, NY - Proud of its Upstate New York neighbors Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes and Delta Sonic Car Wash, Syracuse.com gave a sneak peek of the two companies that were subjects of a recent NACS "Ideas 2 Go" taping, which showed how those companies are "doing it right."
"Nice N Easy is on the short list of the best-respected chains with fewer than 100 stores," said Jeff Lenard, vice president of industry advocacy for NACS. Lenard was part of the film crew at Nice N Easy€™s new flagship store in Brewerton.
The footage will be part of a package that will be shown at this year€™s NACS Show in Las Vegas, where 23,000 attendees are expected to converge for the October 7 to 10 event. Registration is available online.
Lenard praised Nice N Easy€™s integration of traditional convenience store offerings with grocery items, something badly needed in Brewerton.
"You don€™t see many convenience stores acting as grocery stores in an area under-served by grocery stores," Lenard said. "There are a whole lot of (convenience store) retailers who face permit issues, where the community says 'We don€™t want you.€™ Nice N Easy had the opposite; the community said 'We need you€™ and Nice N Easy responded with a newer, larger store. It€™s an operation to be admired and take ideas from."
Lenard also praised Delta Sonic as a category leader.
"Delta Sonic is probably the best car wash in the country, anywhere in the country," said Lenard, who noted the Buffalo-based chain has its newest-concept car washes in the Syracuse market. "They make car wash theater."
