NEW YORK - Forget shots, drinks, jerky, and even sprays. Looking for the tastiest energy pick-me-up? There€™s a potato chip for that, CBS News reports.
Arma Energy Snx is marketing its Kettle Cooked Energy Snx potato chips (BBQ and Tortilla flavors), which come stocked with 70 milligrams of caffeine, taurine, and 290 calories €" remarkably snug in a 2-ounce bag.
By comparison, a can of Red Bull tallies 80 milligrams of caffeine and just 110 calories, and an espresso shot, according to Jo Ann Hattner, a nutrition consultant with Stanford University Medical School, contains roughly 70 milligrams of caffeine and just 5 calories. So for the calories, Hattner questions the chips€™ practicality.
"It€™s what I call an image food," she said. "Seventy milligrams of caffeine is really not that much, you might get that in a shot of espresso."
The company also sells caffeinated trail mix, fruit mix, cookie mix, and granola.
