ALEXANDRIA, VA - The 2012 NACS Show Virtual site is now open, allowing retailers to experience the excitement of the NACS Show before, during and after the NACS Show, which takes place October 7 to 10 in Las Vegas.
The site contains more than 10 hours of exclusive content from this past year€™s NACS Show, as well as videos and images highlighting the most popular Cool New Products released in 2011. New, exclusive content will be added in the coming months, including a preview of the 2012 Cool New Products that will be on display at the NACS Show. On-demand content from NACS Show 2012 education sessions will be posted online in late October.
This is the second year that NACS has offered the NACS Show Virtual. The new site is significantly enhanced from last year, with much more robust content and a cleaner look that allows for easier navigation.
"We have incorporated the ideas and comments from last year€™s participants to make significant upgrades into the site and provide exactly what retailers had asked for," said Donovan Woods, NACS€™ strategic sales initiatives manager.
NACS Show Virtual content posted before the 2012 NACS Show is available to all retailers at no charge. NACS Show 2012 retail attendees will have access to exclusive bonus content by purchasing a one-year NACS Virtual subscription for $25. Non-attendees can also subscribe to NACS Virtual and receive bonus content at rates that start at $100 per year.
The NACS Show will take place October 7 to 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. NACS Show retailer attendees, as well as wholesalers and distributors, can register for the event and secure housing at nacsshow.com.
Full registration, which includes admission to the general sessions, workshops, expo and the welcome reception, is $295 for NACS retailer members and $495 for other retailer attendees. One-day registration also is available ($195 for NACS retailer members and $295 for other retailers). These super-saver rates are available until August 1. Other rates apply for non-exhibiting manufacturers, service providers, brokers and consultants. Exhibitor registration will be available in June.
NACS has negotiated room rates for more than 20 hotels in proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center and attendees can request hotel preferences online beginning April 2. Early submission of housing requests will increase the likelihood that attendees will be able to stay at the hotel of their choice within the NACS Show housing block. Equally important, these hotels have access to the shuttles for transport to and from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Overall, 22,312 attendees were at the 2011 NACS Show in Chicago, a 1.5 percent increase over last year€™s attendance. The NACS Show featured a 387,000-plus net-square-foot exposition floor with 1,333 exhibiting companies €" of which 324 companies were new to the NACS Show. Extending the value of the expo to both retailers and exhibitors, the Cool New Products Preview Room featured a record number of products.
In addition, the 2011 NACS Show featured three days of standing-room-only general sessions, 53 educational workshops, four training sessions and a Category Management Seminar. The workshops alone drew a cumulative 6,750 attendees, averaging out to approximately 120 attendees per workshop. Reflecting the growing international scope of the NACS Show, select workshops were translated into Portuguese, Spanish and Chinese.
