Gray Taylor literally grew up in the convenience store industry with the opening of the family’s first convenience store in 1963. Growing up in the family business, comprised of 87 stores, Gray gained experience in all phases of convenience store and chain operations. Concurrent with his involvement in the family chain, Gray founded a fuels retailing business (1983) and a store-based consumer banking/EFT service (1984), the first such service offered by a retailer.

Since selling his retail interests, Gray has worked with several systems and dispenser suppliers to the global convenience retail segment in an executive capacity.

Gray has leveraged his diverse global experience on a variety of projects, including recapitalization of a public alternative fuels company, consulting with the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) on card payment issues and hosting NACS’ international executive “best practices” forums.

In 2004, Gray joined NACS as Vice President of Research, continuing his involvement in card issues and assuming leadership in NACS’ State of the Industry and NACSTech efforts.

Gray joined Dresser Wayne as VP of Global Marketing and Business Development in 2007, where he managed the $600M global product portfolio of Wayne, one of the world’s largest suppliers of fuel dispensers, systems, payment platforms and services.

After two years with Wayne, Gray is again working with retailers and NACS as an independent consultant, advising NACS on card payment issues and data security.<
