David Caudill is Senior Director of Information Technology at Thorntons Inc. where he oversees all areas of technology for the 160-store chain located in the Midwest.  Some of his areas of responsibility include credit card processing, PCI compliance, and corporate infrastructure.  David has extensive experience designing and managing development projects involving his company’s proprietary point-of-sale and in-house applications designed in .Net and SQL.  These homegrown applications provide a constant flow of data from each store, enabling business leaders to have access to real-time business intelligence.  David recently led his company’s transition to a new 800 square foot, raised-access-floor data center and was a key driver in the development of a new shrink management tool that integrates the point-of-sale to the camera surveillance system.

David has attained 15 years of c-store industry knowledge at Thorntons Inc., beginning his career responding directly to store team members as part of the first level response team.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky University with degrees in computer science and math.  When David is not working on keeping Thorntons Inc. on the forefront of technology he enjoys perfecting his golf game, honing his guitar skills, and enjoying the company of good friends.
