Becky Smith has been the Director of Human Resources for Wallis Companies since 2004. Her career at Wallis began in July 1997 when she started as the Training Coordinator after graduating from what is now University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. Becky received certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in December 2002, and since May 2003, she has been a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She attended the NACS Leadership Executive Program at Cornell in 2009. Becky is a regular attendee at the NACS HR Forum and has previously served on the committee planning the event. In 2010, she served as the Track Leader for the inaugural year of the Human Capital workshop track at the NACS Show, and she continues to perform in that role for this year’s show.
In 2005, she received Wallis Companies Community Service Award for her work with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She was married in 1999 to her husband, Chris. After 8 years of marriage, her one (and only) daughter, Audrey Cosette, was born in May 2007. When not working, she enjoys spending time with my family and friends and attending live theatre. She has played the piano and sang since she was little, which she continues to enjoy. She also enjoys reading and watching classic movies. Over the years, she has developed a rather obsessive compulsion for collecting Christmas ornaments, especially Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments. She is also a bit of a “foodie” and enjoys cooking and baking when she has time.
