Derek Gaskins
Vice President, Marketing
NACS

Derek Gaskins has an extensive background in marketing for both retail and consumer packaged goods companies. He is the Vice President of Marketing for NACS, and oversees all customer touch points for the NACS brand.

Prior to joining NACS, Derek worked for 8 years as the Director of Marketing for Giant Eagle Inc., the Pittsburgh, PA.-based company that operates more than 220 Giant Eagle grocery stores and 150 GetGo convenience stores. Derek managed business lines as diverse as Fuel, Convenience, New Formats (Giant Eagle Express), Iggle Video, Beer, Wine, Liquor, Photo and Retail Banking.  Derek not only led the creation and launch of the fast growing GetGo chain of fuel stations and convenience stores, but he also devised and introduced the fuel loyalty/CRM program known as “Fuelperks!”.

Prior to joining Giant Eagle in 2002, Derek also worked for a number of major companies including Nabisco Foods in Detroit, Goldman Sachs in New York City and Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. He spent several years with P&G in brand management where he became adept at new concept ideation, screening, testing, development, brand creation, positioning, and launch.

Derek Gaskins was born and raised in South East Washington, DC. After excelling both academically and athletically in high school, he received a full academic scholarship to the University of Iowa where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, BBA. He later attended the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University near Chicago where he received his MBA with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Real Estate in 1998.

He is a tireless worker who is committed to his family, his job and his community.
