Don Burke

Don Burke has over eleven years of experience with Management Science Associates (MSA), a leading-edge data management, statistical analysis, and business intelligence firm.  He is currently a Senior Vice President in the Information Management Solutions Division.  Don has extensive experience delivering data solutions derived from a variety of sources, including scanner, manufacturer and distributor shipment, and transactional market basket information, that provide clients with the knowledge needed to better manage their distribution channel.  Most recently, Don has been delivering new sales forecasting analytical services, trade program management tools, and data integration services to clients in the tobacco, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage, snack, confection, and magazine publishing areas.

At the 2009 NACS Show, Don presented a study on SKU Rationalization in the Convenience Store Industry.  This study highlighted the sales improvements that can be achieved through several simple steps that convenience retailers can take to optimize their product selection.

At the Magazine Publishers of America Retail Conference, Don delivered a pioneering market basket research study examining the buying behavior of the newsstand magazine purchaser.  This study was followed by a second, more in-depth analysis presented at the American Magazine Conference.  These studies revealed how retailers can capitalize on the shopping behavior of the newsstand magazine purchaser.

Prior to joining MSA, Don held marketing and sales positions with Pacific Bell/AT&T, Procter & Gamble, and SmithKline Beecham, in addition to advertising experience with Euro/RSCG.  Don holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Allegheny College and a M.B.A. degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Pittsburgh.  He is a graduate of the Technology Commercialization Executive Course at Carnegie-Mellon University.
