David the managing partner of Balvor LLC, which is a retail marketing and research firm that provides consulting, sales support, and analytic services to retailers, product suppliers, financial analyst and other organizations.

David has extensive retail trade experience with tobacco having assessed the impact of deep-discount products in both cigarettes and moist smokeless tobacco (2005), examined the retail role of sub-price/value segment in moist smokeless tobacco (2006), studied the growing role of cigars at retail (2008), conducted extensive trade research into emerging retail buyer practices associated with the changing economic of the tobacco category (2005, 2006, 2009) and have conducted several industry econometric studies analyzing the financial value of tobacco products to retailers (2001 & 2006).

Over the years David has provided legislative support to taxation issues impacting both cigarettes and smokeless tobacco at the state level that have assessed the effect of increased taxation of cigarettes as well as conversion from an ad valorem to a weight based taxation method in smokeless tobacco.

Prior to founding Balvor in 2008, David spent 12 years at Willard Bishop in various positions, including most recently as a partner.
