Other Surveys
Same Store Survey Retailers, financial analysts and lenders all consider same-store indicators a more valid indicator of a company’s state of health. Same-store sales or other comparison metrics of a company’s portfolio of stores open for two or more years filter out the effects of store growth or decline over the relevant time period. Therefore, indicators on sales, expenses, and gross margins are a credible source of underlying health of the basic business in the context of the economic backdrop. NACS believes that this important survey group provides value added perspective on key industry trends that cannot be obtained from firm level survey data. As with all SOI data, the NACS same-store sample data is kept completely confidential.
