Convenience retailers are poised to capitalize on our great locations and high customer traffic through the development and execution of meaningful foodservice. The playing field can be leveled through education and solutions.
– Greg Parker, CEO Parker Company

The “source” for convenience retailers to receive education, ideas, information and solutions designed to help build dynamic, effective, and profitable foodservice. Click here for a printable brochure.

NACS CAFÉ will serve the convenience retailing industry as the foodservice operator’s source for information on:

  • Accredited Certification
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Marketing and Merchandising
  • Product Innovation
  • Effective Store Operations
  • Best Workforce Practices
  • Education and Motivation
  • Training and Execution
  • Pricing and Positioning Strategies
  • Branding and Brand Building
  • Finance and Administration

Classes will be both “on line” (self-paced modules, webinars, etc.) and “on premise” (classes at Georgia State University’s School of Hospitality, Atlanta, GA).

Why?

  • The NACS CAFÉ is a dynamic, innovative resource provided to convenience retailers that desire to build and grow effective, profitable foodservice.
  • Our “culture of convenience”… our acceptance of “dashboard dining”… our migration from mid-scale foodservice pricing to quick-service pricing… and our dizzy, busy, frenetic pace of life requiring “multi-tasking” (i.e. purchase Pampers for the baby, pick up a newspaper, buy a lottery ticket, fill up your gas tank, purchase a pack of gum and buy a lunch with a refreshing cold beverage) all makes this opportunity real and imminent.
  • The reality is, however, that most convenience retailers do not have the foodservice expertise and credibility to raise-the-bar on foodservice to a dynamic and highly profitable level.
  • The NACS CAFÉ is the source for solutions, ideas, information and education.  Its objective is to level the playing field between convenience retailers and quick service restaurants

Who?

  • After reading, reviewing and studying data that clearly indicated that convenience retailers were poised and ready to capitalize on real estate and traffic through the development and execution of meaningful foodservice… and further understanding that most convenience retailers were not experienced or knowledgeable about foodservice “best practices,” NACS CAFÉ was established.
  • NACS CAFÉ will further provide NACS membership a high level of education on both the “on premise” and “on line” levels. The NACS CAFÉ aligned with the “top twenty” Georgia State University School of Hospitality.

What?

In short, the NACS CAFÉ is the “source” for ideas, information, access, education and solutions as related to foodservice in the convenience retail channel.  Here is a quick-pass overview of the services the CAFÉ will provide NACS members, effective in 2010.

  • Foodservice Resource Center – Through its dynamic web site, the CAFÉ will provide NACS members access to research, studies, archival articles, a detailed list of “third party providers” and “subject matter experts,” publications and programs available to NACS membership.
  • Foodservice Education – Through both “on site” (at Georgia State University) and “on line” (webinars, chat rooms, online tutorials, etc.), the CAFÉ will provide a wealth of education on all aspects of foodservice.  There is even a professional certification program.
  • Foodservice “And More…” – From publishing booklets on convenience retail foodservice… to providing “best practices” case studies… to developing “foodservice share groups”… to facilitating foodservice speakers… to hosting “market tours” and best practice workshops… and more… the NACS CAFÉ will surely be the “source” for convenience retailer foodservice success.
