NACStech Expo Offer Enhanced

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NACS has announced a significant expansion of the exhibitor categories for the NACStech 2010 conference and exhibition, which will take place May 5 to 7 in New Orleans.

In addition to traditional technology product and service categories, five new categories have been added: biometrics, wireless, mobile applications, knowledge management and sustainable systems.

“The categories at NACStech reflect the changing dynamics within our industry, as new technologies and applications are increasingly entering our channel,” said NACS Technology Council Chairman Pat Lewis, partner of Oasis Stop ’N Go Convenience Stores (Twin Falls, ID). “These new areas continue the stewardship of taking the industry from technology laggards to leaders,” said Lewis.

This is the second major enhancement to NACStech announced this week. Earlier this week, NACS and Convenience Store News announced a collaborative agreement that includes, among other things, the addition of Convenience Store News’ 5th annual CIO Roundtable immediately before NACStech, which will be rebranded as the NACS/Convenience Store News CIO Roundtable, and the relocation of Convenience Store News’ 7th Annual Technology Awards to NACStech.

“This partnership furthers our goal of delivering one-stop shopping for industry retailers and suppliers,” said NACS President and CEO Hank Armour in announcing the NACS/Convenience Store News partnership. “Just as we have thoughtfully brought in new partners to enhance our annual NACS Show, we want to deliver even more robust package deliverables to the industry’s premier technology event, and this partnership furthers that goal.”

More than 1,200 attendees are expected to attend NACStech, which features nearly 100 exhibits. Exhibition space is now available at nacstech.com. Retailer registration for NACStech opens January 11.
