NACStech Registration Now Open
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Registration is now open for NACStech, the premiere technology solutions event for the convenience and petroleum retailing industry.

Approximately 1,300 attendees and more than 100 exhibitors are expected at NACStech, which takes place May 18 to 20 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Registration is now available online at www.nacstech.com. Attendees can obtain maximum savings by registering by March 15.

With numerous workshops dedicated to critical industry topics like PCI Compliance, Triple DES Compliance, state-of-the-art loyalty programs and maximizing POS strategies, NACStech is much more than just an information technology event. In fact, more than half of retail attendees at NACStech are from functions other than IT.

NACStech will kick off this year with a presentation by “captology” expert BJ Fogg, who will shed light on how computing products — from Web sites to mobile phone software — can change how people think and act. At the Persuasive Technology Lab at Stanford University, Fogg directs research that creates insights into how computing products can be designed to change people’s beliefs and behaviors. Fogg, a leader in investigating computers and persuasion for 15 years, coined the term “captology” to describe the area where computing technology and persuasion overlaps. Fogg was cited by Fortune magazine as one of “10 New Gurus You Should Know” and authored the book Persuasive Technology: Using Computers to Change What We Think and Do.

NACStech will close with a presentation by Michael Rogers, a leading expert on the impact of technological change for business and society, will share his knowledge and insights at this year’s NACStech. Rogers is currently the Futurist-in-Residence for the New York Times Company and writes the popular “Practical Futurist” column at MSNBC.com, which reaches 22 million readers a month. He has served as Newsweek’s technology guru and as the vice president of The Washington Post Company’s new media division. As an interactive media pioneer, novelist and journalist, Rogers also has studied and written about all the key technologies driving this century and has interviewed or worked with major business figures worldwide.
