Rompetrol, the multi-national oil company headquartered in Amsterdam, has launched a new forecourt design in Romania called Litro.
Two Litro petrol stations have opened on the Bucharest to Constanta Highway with further Litro openings scheduled before the end of October, representing a total investment of around US$13m.

Litro: striking but simple architectural design
The Litro design has been developed by the international branding company, Saffron, in conjunction with San Francisco-based architects Eight.
According to Saffron, the aim was to create a service station that is different from competitors and relevant to consumers. The end result is a forecourt that really stands out from the crowd, it says.
The Litro branding includes a droplet design. Both the name and design create a simple and clean identity, says Saffron.
“The Litro name and droplet speak of the simplicity that permeates the entire concept,” it says. “The brand is based on a few powerful elements, the droplet being the central element.”
The works of Romanian sculptor Brancusi have also inspired the design, it adds.
Rompetrol reports Litro is a premium petrol station and the result of research into consumer needs and technical solutions.
