A World of Convenience at the NACS Show
October 6, 2009

Stephanie Robert, director event marketing and communications, NACS, eagerly anticipates the NACS Show.

I cannot wait for the NACS Show this year, 20-23 October in Las Vegas. Not only are we in an exciting venue, but the energy level at the NACS Show is always unparalleled. I just can’t help but get enthusiastic when I see industry leaders from all over the world come together to explore new strategies and exchange big business ideas.

This year, the NACS Show is designed to provide you and your team with proven ideas and strategies to promote growth, attract customers, build your brand and improve your bottom line. And, with so many things for an international attendee to do, you won’t want to miss one second of the action.

Join us for the International Forum at the NACS Show taking place 19-20 October. This two-day, pre-Show event features valuable networking opportunities with global retailers and suppliers. And, the educational programme follows the theme "International Trends in a Changing Economy." Fallout from the subprime mortgage market in the US has led to instable markets and a global recession. Find ideas and solutions designed to help you weather the economic storm. A separate registration fee is required and it will be money well-spent. To learn more and to register, visit nacsshow.com and click on the International section.

The learning doesn’t stop with the International Forum. In fact, an entire workshop track has been developed specifically for international attendees as a means to learn and exchange ideas with other international attendees. The track includes topics such as: customer service research from around the world, global store design innovations, the future of global fuels, environmental sustainability and much more. For a complete listing of all workshops, visit nacsshow.com and select the workshops link under the sessions and events section.

We’re also really excited about the Convenience Industry Global Achievement Award taking place on Thursday, 22 October at 8:00am. This competition is designed to identify our industry’s potential leaders. This year, participants will answer the question:  "In light of competition, convenience is not becoming more convenient. How can you utilise customer feedback and what changes would you make to ensure you continue to enhance value for your consumers?” Come and listen to how these young leaders approach the question and their overall solutions. One retail and supplier winner will be announced at the conclusion of the competition.

Also, make sure to stop by the International Lounge. Equipped with telephones, seating for small meetings, Internet access and more, the International Lounge is the ideal location for delegations to exchange ideas with other retailers and suppliers from around the globe. Private meeting rooms can be booked in advance and a multi-lingual receptionist is available to assist and direct attendees. Interpretation services are also available upon request (advance requests pre-Show preferable).

Stay connected with other show-goers with Twitter. Twitter is without a doubt one of the best ways to share and discover what is happening at the NACS Show real time. Sign up to follow NACS at http://twitter.com/nacsonline. On site, you’ll receive special insider information about workshops and will be privy to exclusive videos, photos and more. Access tweets on your mobile device and at various computer stations and video monitors throughout the convention center. Remember to use #nacsshow every time you tweet. NACS Show Tweeters are encouraged to pick up a Twitter ribbon at the NACS Information Booth or the NACS Center onsite.

I am just so excited about the NACS Show this year. The connections are invaluable. The strategies are priceless. The location is exciting and fun. If you haven’t registered yet, there is still a little time. Visit nacsshow.com for details. I’m looking forward to seeing you in Vegas!
