Redbox Goes Online With DVD Rentals
September 20, 2006

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. – Redbox, a leader in automated kiosk DVD rentals, is launching a new feature that allows consumers to choose which movies to rent with the click of a button. By accessing the company’s Web site, users can select their DVDs online and pick up their rentals at a Redbox location of their choice, reports a press release.

“Other rental companies leave you guessing what movie will arrive and more importantly when,” Redbox Vice President of Marketing Greg Waring said in the release. “Redbox believes in customer convenience and applies real-time inventory technology to make renting the hottest new releases for only $1 a night, fun, convenient and, most importantly, guess-free.”

Beginning September 25, consumers can access the new online feature. For added convenience, consumers can keep the DVD for as long as they like at $1 per night plus tax and return their selection at any Redbox kiosk nationwide.

Redbox is available at more than 1,400 locations including McDonald’s restaurants, supermarket chains and office buildings.
