EDMONTON – On Saturday, September 16, more than 425 of Imperial Oil’s Esso-branded locations will contribute one cent for every litre of gasoline sold and $1 from each carwash sold to support the United Way in Canada.
“By simply visiting your local Esso station this weekend and filling up your tank, you're helping out people in your community,” says Simon Smith, vice president of fuels marketing at Imperial Oil in a press release, adding, “At Esso, we recognize the importance of United Way in our community, and we're delighted to be able to continue our commitment to this organization from coast to coast. Last year's one-day event raised almost $150,000 for United Way in Canada.”
Money generated from the initiative will be used to fund United Way in Canada agencies that help children, abused mothers and their children, the homeless, newcomers to Canada and disabled people through a variety of the organization’s programs and services.
