YORK, Pa. – The Rutter’s Companies, parent company of Rutter’s Farm Stores, has donated $150,000 to the YWCA of Hanover, which will use the funds to renovate the building that houses its Junior Quantum Opportunities program.

“These much-needed improvements will create a better learning environment, and one that will excite the children,” said Tina Heffner, executive director of the YWCA of Hanover.

Junior Quantum Opportunities is an extended-learning program offered to students aged 5 to 12. Upgrades to the building will include interior and exterior painting, window treatments and new carpeting. The YWCA will create work areas for the children and purchase furniture for the classroom.

In recognition of Rutter’s donation, the building will be renamed Rutter’s Hall.

“Through the generosity of Rutter’s, the YWCA of Hanover is able to provide much more than a childcare setting for its school-age students,” Heffner said. “The YWCA of Hanover staff, board of directors, and members sincerely thank Rutter’s for making such a large commitment and investment for the youth within our Hanover community.”
