ATLANTA – This month, BP’s ampm convenience store chain is sponsoring a Guitar Hero III Tournament. ampm is hosting a month of play-off events, which will take place at 12 ampm locations in the Atlanta area. The tournament culminates in a championship play-off and exclusive rock-concert event.
Throughout March, would-be rock stars have the chance to unleash their inner guitar hero and battle it out at in-store competitions. The contestants have the chance to win tickets to an exclusive, intimate concert with Atlanta-based rock band, Alter Bridge. The contestant with the highest score at each of the 12 ampm event locations will compete in a live championship play-off--judged by Alter Bridge--that will take place live at the Tabernacle on April 3.
After crowning ampm’s Atlanta “Guitar Hero III Champion,” lucky fans and gamers will see a live performance by Alter Bridge. The ampm “Guitar Hero III Champion” also will receive a new guitar signed by the band, an XBOX 360 unit, a new Guitar Hero III game and a basket of ampm "Too Much Good Stuff" valued at $300.
“ampm is ‘Too Much Good Stuff’; it’s funky, irreverent, exciting. ampm makes the convenience store experience quick and fun and it offers great everyday values for busy people on the go,” Fiona MacLeod, president of BP U.S. Convenience Retail, said in a press release. “The ampm Guitar Hero III Championship is a perfect fit with ampm’s high energy and a great way for ampm to say hello to Atlanta.”
The ampm Guitar Hero III Tournament began on March 6.
