ST. LOUIS, MO -- In time for St. Patrick's Day (March 17), Anheuser-Busch is making Bud Light available in a 16-ounce green aluminum bottle featuring shamrocks. The special packaging is available at convenience stores and select bars and restaurants for a limited time nationwide.
"What better way to celebrate a toast with friends and family this St. Patrick's Day than with a cool shamrock green aluminum bottle of Bud Light," said Rick Leininger, Bud Light director of marketing at Anheuser-Busch in a press release. "This is another fun and innovative package that we think beer drinkers will enjoy."
In addition to aluminum bottles, Anheuser-Busch has launched new packaging including shrink-wrapped bottles and applied plastic labels (APL).
The press release notes that, in addition to the St. Patrick's Day packaging, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers, along with local retailers, will promote responsible drinking and the use of designated drivers. The campaign includes point-of-sale materials reminding adults to "Do the Ride Thing," plus "Kiss Me, I'm the Designated Driver" consumer stickers.
