NACS Show 2006 Expo Sold Out
July 20, 2006

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The NACS Show 2006 exhibition floor is officially “sold out.” All of the Show's approximately 375,000 net square feet of exhibition space at the Las Vegas Convention Center sold out approximately eight weeks earlier than the NACS Show typically reaches sell-out status. Approximately 1,400 exhibiting companies are participating in this year’s event.

“The early sellout speaks to the terrific support from the convenience industry suppliers who continue to view the NACS Show as an important and viable venue for connecting with their customers--retailers, wholesalers and distributors,” says Jane Berzan, NACS senior vice president of events and supplier relations. “The expo sellout combined with early positive registration and hotel room increases are a strong signal that our industry continues to value the face-to-face connections and industry-specific educational programs available at the NACS Show.”

The NACS Show 2006 is once again organized around six key segments to help retailers, marketers and distributors more effectively navigate the Show floor. These segments reflect how buyers “shop” the Show floor. The six areas are:

  • Candy and Snacks
  • Facility Development and Store Operations
  • Food Equipment and Foodservice Programs
  • Merchandise
  • PEI/NACS Petroleum Equipment
  • Technology

NACS is bringing two new initiatives to the Show floor this year, both designed to provide attendees with additional entertainment and education. The Teen People Trendspotters panels on Oct. 10 and 11 will present the results from teams of young adults who scout the show floor to identify what they consider to be the hottest products in convenience retailing based on the categories selected by retailers in an online poll. The show floor also will include the debut of the Convenience Chef Showdown, Oct. 9 and 10 cooking competitions with convenience store chefs.

Companies interested in exhibiting at the NACS Show 2006 are encouraged to get on the waiting lists for each area. Berzan said that the Show floor will continue to evolve as companies shift their product focus and their space requirements, allowing some companies on the waiting list to be accommodated prior to each year’s Show.

The hours of the NACS Show expo are:

  • Monday, Oct. 9: 12:00 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 10: 12:00 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 11: 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Information about all NACS Show 2006 activities, as well as online registration for both retailers and exhibitors, is available at the NACS Show Web site.
