DALLAS -- 7-Eleven is expanding its prepaid wireless phone offerings to include two new plans. One plan will offer unlimited nights and weekend calls and the other a competitive per-minute charge plan with nationwide calling.
The plans, called SpeakOut Wireless prepaid plans, are being offered at a time when most wireless providers are adding more gimmicks to phones such as music, games and graphics. 7-Eleven’s success with its wireless phone program led to the new offerings.
“We’ve found that customers prefer flexibility and don’t want a long-term contractual commitment,” said Brad Haga, 7-Eleven senior product director for business development and services. “These two plans are among the most competitive prepaid wireless offerings available in the market today.”
According to a study by NPD Group, both prepaid and post paid consumers cite convenience and price as the top reasons for selecting where to makes their wireless phone purchase.
The unlimited night and weekend plan will cost $40 a month. The per-minute charge plan will cost 10-cents per-minute, the lowest ever offered by 7-Eleven.
