PENNSYLVANIA -- Rutter’s is challenging consumers to come up with the design for a new recycling bin for bottles and cans that will be placed in front of its stores. 

The winner of the “Win Green Design Contest,” will receive a $500 Rutter’s gift card. 

The contest is part of Rutter’s attempt to makes its stores more environmentally friendly. Other efforts the store is taking include using more environmentally friendly light bulbs, recycling frying oils for use in bio-fuels, and the installing of white roofs on new stores.

There is no limit to how many designs one person may submit, the company said.
