YORK, Pa. – Rutter's Holdings Inc., parent company of Rutter's Farm Stores, M&G Realty and Rutter's Dairy, earned the number five spot on the Central Penn Business Journal's list of top 100 privately held companies in the central Pennsylvania area. In addition to the recognition, the company announced Wednesday that it is on its way to bringing its total charitable contributions for 2006 to $200,000 by making a $25,000 donation to the March of Dimes.
Of the top 100 privately held companies, Rutter's also posted the ninth-best percentage change in revenue with a 39.55 percent increase from 2004 to 2005.
The company, through its Children's Charities program, recently presented a $25,000 donation to the March of Dimes to help create a parent education and support center in the neonatal intensive care unit at the York Hospital – the first center of its kind in the state, according to March of Dimes State Director of Program Services and Public Affairs Dolores Smith.
"We're grateful to Rutter's Children's Charities for this generous contribution," said Smith, adding, "It will help the March of Dimes to address the emotional, informational and material needs of the more than 400 families each year who spend time in the York Hospital neonatal intensive care unit. For them, this is a wonderful gift."
"We're pleased to work with the March of Dimes and York Hospital to make the Parent Education and Support Center a reality and proud to help area families in their time of need," said Todd Rutter, president of Rutter's Dairy.
Family-owned and third generation-managed, the Rutter's companies employ more than 800 people in central Pennsylvania.
