PORT ORCHARD, WA – A grand opening celebration in Port Orchard this week revealed a new look to a 7-Eleven store, or rather, a new “type” of 7-Eleven.

“Up until now, the industry has pretty much lived and died by beer and cigarettes,” said Jeff Brown, a senior real estate representative for 7-Eleven’s North Pacific Division, told the Port Orchard Independent. “We’re trying to move away from that image and provide people with healthier options.”

This new type of 7-Eleven will be commonplace in Port Orchard, with new stores coming by year’s end. The stores will have a clean, friendly atmosphere, noted Tracy Weston-Ladnow, a 7-Eleven field representative

The stores will put more emphasis on fresh foods and coffee, and give away free, fresh breakfasts (muffins, fruit and coffee) and lunches (sandwiches, fruit and chips) for several days “so people can get our fresh foods in their mouth and see how wonderful they really are,” Weston-Ladnow told the newspaper.
