Human Resources Forum
March 9-11, 2010
Orlando, FL

The NACS Human Resources Forum has been going strong since 1992 and continues to be the premier industry-specific professional program available. Every year, the industry's most engaged HR professionals gather together to discuss the hot topics and issues directly related to them. Program attendees actively participate in the program filled with valuable activities, case studies, networking and speakers.

HR plays a pivotal role by being on point for their companies in understanding the many laws, rules and regulations impacting the convenience industry. HR is responsible for communicating these legislative issues; their implications on the business; ensuring compliance requirements are met, and to effectively implement changes throughout their companies.

Who Should Attend

  • HR Directors
  • HR Managers
  • HR Assistant/Specialist
  • Someone tasked with HR initiatives

2010 Program
Facilitating the program for 2010 is Terry McKenna, founder and principal of Convenience Store Coaches, Inc. He has been the faciliator since 2007.
The theme for 2010 is HR-Steering The Ship Through Turbulent Waters. The 2010 HR Forum is the most important forum in years due to key legislative issues that may impact our industry in ways we've not seen before. If you've never attended the NACS HR Forum - this is the one. If it's been a few years since your last HR Forum - you don't want to miss out. And this year, vendors and suppliers are invited to attend as participants.

The 2010 NACS HR Forum will dedicate one full day to the most important topics currently facing our industry
Unlike past HR Forums, these topics will be presented in an roundtable discussion format where we’ll roll-up our sleeves, dig deep into the issues and through the help of subject matter experts, develop meaningful action plans to take back to your company to implement. Topics to be addressed are:

  1. Healthcare legislation reform
  2. Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA)
  3. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  4. New emerging “On the Horizon” issues

In addition to our heavy focus on legislative issues, we'll also address and work through other key challenges facing HR personnel today. Challenges like:

  • Training and Coaching
  • Time Management
  • Raising the Image of the Cashier

One of the great benefits of attending the NACS HR Forum is the opportunity to learn best-practices and lessons learned from your peers.  The HR Forum provides an opportunity for you to develop a strong peer network that can function as your personal board of advisors throughout the year helping you perform your job better and taking your HR department to the next level.
