NACS Advanced Category Management Seminar: Turning Data Into Dollars
September 8-9, 2010
Omni Charlotte Hotel
Charlotte, NC

The 2009 NACS "Turning Data Into Dollars" seminar went beyond the NACS Six-step Category Management Framework, which has been enabling convenience store retailers to improve business performance for over ten years. It provided the link between category planning and category performance, and allow retailers to understand the key measures that drive performance for their stores. This hands-on class dives deep down into the data and analytics.

Program Overview
Industry experts provided real-world examples and recommendations on how retailers and suppliers can develop and use information that creates value to their bottom line. Case studies were utilized to allow participants to practice key skills learned in the seminar and provide an opportunity to learn from their peers in break-out sessions. Topics covered included:

  • How to make data-driven decisions
  • How to manage your shelf space
  • Analytics that measure promotional effectiveness
  • Ways to integrate third party data into your category management activities
