TONAWANDA, N.Y. – NOCO Express recently celebrated the grand opening of its rebuilt and state-of-the-art store on Grand Island, in western New York. Formerly a mere 950-square-feet, the redesigned store more than quadrupled the space, expanding to 4,000-square-feet to best meet the needs of today’s on-the-go customers.

Open 24 hours daily, the new store features Nickel City foods, a prepared foodservice with a variety of meal options for all dayparts; U-Swirl Frozen Yogurt, the only frozen yogurt shop on Grand Island; and an expanded selection of grocery and beverage items. The store also features indoor and outdoor seating and free customer Wi-Fi, as well as ten fueling stations including diesel and E85 fuels.

“The newly rebuilt store features NOCO’s latest layout and amenities,” said Jim DeFilippis, general manager, NOCO Express, in a press release. “Our customers expect a variety of on-the-go items from their local convenience store and we are excited to introduce to the Grand Island community a store that offers more than just a place to fill up their gas tanks.”

The Grand Island store was redesigned using environmentally friendly building technologies to reduce energy consumption, including low-watt LED lighting, a refrigeration energy management system, white roofing for increased light reflectivity, more than a dozen skylights that allow natural light into the store, and an energy management control system that automatically dims the store lighting fixtures during the peak daylight hours on an as-needed basis.
