Registration is now open for 2015 event in Berlin and London.

December 03, 2014

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – In June, convenience and fuel retailing industry professionals from around the world will gather in Berlin and London to gain knowledge, commercial connections and networking, and the opportunity to discover and discuss new ideas. The event will also feature the popular International Convenience Retail Awards — now in their seventh year — which recognize and promote convenience retailing excellence.

The Berlin segment of the program (June 7-9) will feature high-level European retail thought leadership, strategy, trends and economics. Supplier-hosted dinners and store visits will connect attendees and show them innovative and new ideas in Berlin convenience retailing.

The main conference days take place in Central London at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel (June 10-12). This is the year’s “must attend” event for the European convenience and fuel industry, featuring retailer roundtables, international best practice presentations on key trends/developments in the global industry, retailer case studies and the famous awards night program.

Conference session highlights in Berlin and London will focus on the huge opportunities for the industry, driven by accelerating and fundamental changes in consumer shopping, lifestyle and eating habits.

Some of the specific topics to be presented include:

  • Current economic and political trends in Europe
  • The state of the European consumer and insights into the German market
  • An exploration of German retail channel positioning — hard discounting and the implications for the global industry
  • The keys to prosperity in convenience foodservice — major brands versus a proprietary offer
  • Digital commerce and its impact upon the global convenience industry
  • Internal culture as a key global differentiator
  • Interview with the 2015 Convenience Industry Leader of the Year
  • Technology transformations: touchscreen ordering, self-checkout, mobile ordering and payment
  • The impact of online shopping on the global convenience industry
  • The triumph of “little and often” shopping culture — what has changed?

On Friday, following the London conference, attendees have the option to attend a U.K. retail study tour day in London to learn from some of the best retailers and receive a first-hand view of new formats and offers.
