Sheetz, QuikTrip Among Best Work Environments

The two convenience stores are ranked in the top 10 in Fortune’s list of the best places to work in retail in the United States.

NEW YORK – To determine the best workplaces in the retail industry, Fortune partnered with Great Places to Work, the research firm behind their annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Fortune’s just-released retail list encompasses numerous examples of companies that strive to stand out from the rest, from higher-than-normal minimum wages to creative ways of fostering an internal work culture of encouragement.

The result is a list of 20 retail companies that are focused on keeping customers—and employees—happy. And two of the top 10 retailers are convenience stores: Sheetz Inc. (Altoona, PA) and QuikTrip (Tulsa, OK).

Here’s Fortune’s second annual list of the best workplaces in the retail industry:
