The convenience retailing industry collects or contributes $1 billion annually to charities.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NACS Foundation has launched a new campaign to tell the convenience retailing industry’s charitable giving story and boost donations for the NACS Foundation.

“The convenience retailing industry collects or contributes an astonishing $1 billion a year to charities. The NACS Foundation provides another opportunity for NACS members to make a difference in their communities and on a national level. At our core, we are not just about delivering convenience. We’re community stores, too, and the foundation is well-positioned to have a transformative impact on these communities by helping to turn dollars into real change,” said NACS Director of Mission Marketing Stephanie Sikorski.

The NACS Foundation has distributed more than $500,00 in scholarships to convenience store employees since its founding in the early 1990s. This year, it also funded community engagement with three major NACS partnerships and groundbreaking initiatives with the Partnership for a Healthier America, Keep America Beautiful and the American Red Cross.

Because of these initiatives and other community outreach, the NACS Foundation has helped to support and bolster the positive impact of the convenience retailing industry while also enhancing its image. Today, three in four (73%) Americans say that convenience stores share their values.

The new foundation campaign coincides with #GivingTuesday (this year, November 28), a global day of giving held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

The new campaign is designed to encourage donations to the NACS Foundation for greater community impact and provide a platform for NACS members to share their charitable giving stories via #ConvenienceCares.
