FRAMINGHAM, MA – Gulf Oil LP and Venture Fuels announced a partnership that extends the Gulf brand to retail stations in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The first Wisconsin location to be branded Gulf will be the Zzip Stop gas station in La Farge, owned by Shane and Emilee Nottestad since 2003.

“We are very proud to add the Gulf brand to our arsenal. Our partnership lines up perfectly with our goal of giving our customers the best fuel buying experience at the best prices possible,” said Venture Fuels President Dave Johnson. “To be the first ones to bring the Gulf brand back to Wisconsin is a pretty big deal, and working with small business owners with the passion that Shane and Emilee have at Zzip Stop makes it that much better.”

The Gulf brand now covers 32 states and two-thirds of the continental United States. According to a press release, Gulf Oil pioneered the concept of branded product sales in the early 20th century by selling gasoline in containers and from pumps marked with the distinctive orange disc Gulf logo.

“Venture Fuels is a terrific partner for us as we continue our national expansion and move back into areas of the upper Midwest, including Wisconsin, that haven’t seen the Gulf brand in over 20 years,” said Gulf Oil Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Rick Dery. “We are very pleased to be providing Venture’s customers with quality products and services at competitive rates, and know we will have great success together. Wisconsin’s state motto is 'Forward!'and that is exactly what we are doing as we progressively grow Gulf’s footprint across the nation.”
