NEW YORK – Building on last week’s announcement with UberRUSH, delivery.com is now partnering with Sidecar, a same-day delivery service for businesses, which will enable merchants and restaurants in dozens of cities to offer on-demand deliveries.

Upon receiving an order in Storefront, delivery.com's existing order management solution, participating merchants will see a "Request delivery" option that displays estimated pickup times and transparent pricing from a growing network of delivery logistics partners. Map-based order tracking also allows both the merchant and customer to watch the delivery travel in real time.

"Rather than build and manage our own delivery fleets, we built the technology to solve for the last mile," said Jed Kleckner, CEO of delivery.com.  "Now, businesses can work together while focusing on their own best-in-class ability, be that managing logistics or making a great meal."

By integrating delivery logistics partners into its marketplace, delivery.com says it is closing the loop on the entire supply chain, from order generation to fulfillment.

The ability to request deliveries through Storefront allows merchants to maintain operational flexibility, as they can augment their existing staff or outsource deliveries completely. "With the flip of a switch, we were able to go from doing limited to-go business to covering all of New York City overnight," said Yann de Rochefort, owner of Boqueria Restaurants.
