TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa-based QuikTrip quietly rolled out its free mobile app two weeks ago, reports Tulsa World.

The app, compatible with iOS and Android, shows users where the closest stores are located, gas prices and scannable coupons. QuikTrip spokesperson Mike Thornbrugh told the news source that the app attracts the Millennial consumer. "We're smart enough to know that is the wave of the future for the consumer. It's really another tool," he said, adding that the goal of the app is to give the consumer just about everything the c-store chain offers, except for the gas and the people behind the counters.

Thornbrugh said the company has been methodical about rolling out its app. "We took a long time," he commented, “probably took longer than others would."

QT wants the app to be more than just a marketing tool that pushes out ads. The interest is more about the customer, their habits, favorite store, purchases, etc.

The app requires users to create an account via their email address or Facebook, and create a password. Thornbrugh told the news source that mobile payment is on the horizon and QT will take the necessary steps to protect user data.
