LAS VEGAS – Convenience retailers attending the NACS Show this week will have the opportunity to take a look at what’s new and next in vehicle fueling, by visiting the Fuels Institute’s Future of Fuels Showcase.

“For years, fuel retailers have been hearing about emerging market opportunities for non-gasoline fuels, but may not have had the chance to really understand how these fuels might fit into their business model,” said John Eichberger, executive director of the Fuels Institute. “At the Future of Fuels Showcase they can learn more about these fuels by getting up close and personal with a variety of alternative fuel vehicles and speaking with the experts who are helping to develop these markets.”

The Future of Fuels Showcase, sponsored by NACS and presented by the Fuels Institute, includes four distinct exhibitors featuring vehicles that excel on various gasoline alternatives, including diesel fuel, high octane ethanol, natural gas and hydrogen fuel cells. Exhibitors include the Diesel Technology Forum featuring a Ram 1500; Growth Energy and Renewable Fuels Association with a  branded Chevy Impala and an ethanol NASCAR race car; Toyota Motor North America featuring the FCV; and NGV America with a Ram Promaster, Ford Transit Connect, Chevy Silverado and Isuzu NPR.

“Never before have NACS Show attendees been able to take a look at the actual vehicles that might represent their future customer base and learn about the infrastructure that would be required to satisfy potential future fuel demand,” Eichberger continued.

“The Fuels Institute seeks to bring together stakeholders with a vested interest in the fuels and vehicles market to share information about market opportunities – the Future of Fuels Showcase is an extension of this mission, bringing together the vehicle and fuel technology experts with the nation’s fuels retailers.”

The Fuels Institute, founded by NACS in 2013, is a non-profit research-oriented think tank dedicated to evaluating market issues related to vehicles and the fuels that power them.
