CHAPEL HILL, NC – Boston Market is reaching out to government workers this week, offering them a free whole chicken with the purchase of a family meal, QSR Magazine reports.

Continuing until October 13, the promotion applies to all federal employees and military personnel a valid government ID. The offer will be available in more than 460 Boston Market restaurant locations nationwide.

“Government employees and our servicemen and women have been some of our best customers over the years, and we appreciate all that they do for our country,” said George Michel, CEO of Boston Market. “Extending this offer to them is a little something we can do to give them a break during a stressful time.”

Furloughed federal employees and military personnel can receive their free chicken with their family meal, or they can ask for a coupon that can be redeemed at a later date.
