SEATTLE – While the general population hasn’t jumped on the mobile payment bandwagon, Apple Watch users have embraced Apple Pay as a way of life, eMarketer reports. Apple Watch users say Apple Pay has made an impact on their daily lives.

A Wristly poll from August 2015 showed that 80% of Apple Watch owners buy products and services with Apple Pay—a fivefold increase over iPhone owners’ usage of the mobile payment system. A fourth of the respondents who had paid via Apple Pay did so for the first time with their Apple Watch.

Apple Pay users are incorporating the method of payment into their daily lives, with four in five respondents paying for everyday purchases, such as groceries, via the mobile payment system. Three in five also said they used Apple Pay for services, like buying a cup of coffee. The smaller, daily occurrences happened more often than larger, less frequent buys or for in-app buys, such as using Lyft.

Among the respondents who are not current Apple Pay users, 29% said their bank didn’t support the system and 18% said it wasn’t locally available. A different survey discovered a third reason: not many retailers accepted Apple Pay, with a mere 7% of North American merchants allowing payment by Apple Pay, according to a July survey. However, close to two-thirds of retailers surveyed indicated Apple Pay would be coming to their location within the next two years.
