Beverage Potential in C-Stores

NACS Show is an opportunity for retailers to learn from industry-leading companies.

September 17, 2014

ATLANTA – Ever wonder why retailers in many channels are racing to get into the “convenience” business? It’s because there is still huge growth potential — and one of the most significant opportunities is in beverages. According to Nielsen (total U.S. convenience retail, 2010–May 24, 2014), for the past four years, beverages have grown nearly double the rate of total in-store sales. This is just one reason it is critical for c-stores to leverage this beverage growth with the right brands, assortment, promotions and space.

NACS Show attendees are encouraged to learn about beverages best practices and insights from leading beverage companies by attending dynamic educational programs, including:

  • Women 2020: Leadership of the Future: At 8 am on October 8, Barbara Poremba of Coca-Cola Refreshments will serve on the Network of Executive Women’s “Women 2020” panel of top industry executives who will share why organizations must change if they want to advance and retain their valuable female leaders.
  • Get in the Game with the “Playbook for Success”: At 9:05 am on October 9, two retailers will discuss how they’ve applied insights revealed in the NACS/Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council “Playbook for Success” to optimally focus their energy and grow their businesses.
  • Destination Coffee: Baristas Wanted: Also at 8 am on Wednesday, October 8, representatives from Curtis, Wawa, BP and Coffee Solutions Inc. will share coffee trends that can keep you top of your game.
