Free Webinar on Cyberattack Response Planning

Conexxus webinar on August 25 delves into Incident Response Planning best practices.

August 22, 2016

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A 2015 Ponemon Institute Study found that 82% of companies predicted that they were either likely or very likely to be victimized by a cyber incident (e.g., ransomware, skimmer attacks, loss of PII, etc.) Those attacks will either disrupt operations or be contained and resolved quickly and discreetly. In many cases the difference is preparedness; studies show that firms with well-rehearsed Incident Response Plans (IRPs) have significantly lower recovery expenses.

With this in mind, Conexxus is offering a free, educational webinar on August 25 at 12:00 pm ET on Incident Response Planning (IRP). Topics will include:

  • An overview of IRP best practices
  • Frameworks that you can use to measure your IRP maturity
  • A project plan and template that you can use as a starting point, if you are at the beginning of your IRP effort

Webinar presenters are Chris Lietz, a principal at Coalfire, and a long-time participant in NACS events and Conexxus Data Security Committee initiatives. At Coalfire, Lietz coordinates the company’s work in helping convenience and fuel retailers, distributors and service providers manage cyber risk and meet compliance and security objectives.

Also presenting is Tabitha Greiner, chief security officer at Acumera. She has nearly 20 years of experience in information security in a variety of industries including financial, retail, education, managed services and consulting. For the past 10 years, she has been heavily involved in payment card industry security and compliance. Greiner is active in industry groups such as Conexxus, the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council and she is a board member of the Austin ISC2 Chapter.
