TAIWAN – President Chain Store Corp., the operator of 7-Eleven stores in Taiwan, announced recently that it has sold more than 10,000 7-Eleven-branded, web-connected TVs, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Manufactured by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., a maker of iPhones and iPads, the TVs are part of a new partnership plan with the island’s convenience store chain.

The sales milestone was reached in just six weeks. Hon Hai and President Chain Store both said they may partner to make and sell smartphones and tablets in the future.

Buyers of the televisions place orders on the company’s website or at any of the more than 4,800 7-Eleven stores in Taiwan. The TVs are available in three models: 40-inch ($430 U.S.), 60-inch ($1,333 U.S.), and 70-inch ($2,336 U.S.). All models come preloaded with links to the 7-Eleven online store and the company’s Facebook page.
