Taking the Mystery Out of Background Checks

Free webinar: Simple strategies can help employers understand the complicated process.

ATLANTA – Retailers often find themselves having to put on their own “detective” hat when conducting criminal record searches on potential employees. In fact, a recent survey by First Advantage, a global leader in providing hiring solutions, found that almost 40% of those who order criminal background checks are unsure about the process.

While the process of completing background checks can be a complicated one, there are a few simple steps employers can take to de-mystify the experience. For instance: knowing where to request criminal records (such as county, state or federal records), understanding your risks in what you order and pinpointing legislation that affects usage.

Now, in addition to powering NACS’ member benefit program to provide discounted rates on employment screening and background checks, First Advantage is offering a complimentary webinar to provide employers with valuable strategies for performing records checks.

The free webinar, taking place from 1 – 2 pm on August 28, will help participants learn what other companies do and compare these with your own criminal background search tactics. Presenters will also help to clarify some confusing criminal record search processes and cover topics including what criminal record searches typically cost and where it takes the longest to get results.
