Federal Court Upholds N.C. Ethanol Blending Law

North Carolina law expands ethanol blending opportunities for marketers.

NEW BERN, N.C. – According to a report from the Petroleum Marketers Association of America, the North Carolina Petroleum and Convenience Marketers Association (NCPCM) is reporting that the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina in New Bern, North Carolina, has upheld the state's law designed to expand ethanol blending opportunities for marketers.

The North Carolina law was challenged by the American Petroleum Institute and the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (now AFPM, the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers). The law was originally upheld at the district court level and now again by the appeals court.
