ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Last week NACS revealed who’s taking the stage at the 2016 NACS Show to provide inspiration and motivation, and offer practical and relevant information—all to help you grow your business. The 2016 NACS Show is taking place October 18–21 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

In case you missed the daily announcements, here’s a recap:

Productivity and leadership specialist Merit Gest will address NACS Show attendees on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 18. Imagine a future where every employee at every level of the 154,000-plus convenience stores in the United States are worthy of a Most Valuable Player award. Imagine a future where everyone you interacted with, from truck drivers and cashiers to sales reps and managers, treated you like an MVP and owned their role with the passion and commitment that MVP winners bring consistently. Now, imagine laughing and learning when Gest shares what’s possible for our industry’s future: MVPs everywhere!

On Wednesday, October 19, you’ll hear an uplifting and engaging message on the power of optimism from Steve Gross, the founder and chief playmaker of the Life is Good Playmakers. At the heart of his work, Gross helps others access their own playfulness so that they can build resilience and bring greater joy, connection, courage and creativity to their work and lives. In what promises to be an inspiring, moving and entertaining presentation, Gross will share research and first-hand lessons that demonstrate how optimistic leaders inspire and energize everyone around them—especially in challenging, change-filled times. He will introduce the concept that “play” is not something you do, but rather a spirit you bring to everything you do, and he will provide practical advice for accessing and cultivating that playful, optimistic spirit.

On Thursday, October 20, catch the debut of the 2016 NACS Ideas 2 Go video, showcasing innovative ideas and best practices for convenience store and fuel retailers across the United States and Ireland.

Closing out the 2016 NACS Show on Friday, October 21, is legendary quarterback Peyton Manning, the NFL’s only five-time Most Valuable Player and a 14-time Pro Bowl selection. This past season, Manning led the Denver Broncos to a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, making him the first starting quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl with two different teams. For his actions off the field, Manning was honored as the recipient of the Byron “Whizzer” White Humanitarian Award and the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2005, as well as the Bart Starr Award in 2015.

In addition, Manning and his wife Ashley established the PeyBack Foundation in 1999 to promote the future success of disadvantaged youth by providing leadership and growth opportunities for children at risk. The PeyBack Foundation has provided more than $10 million to at-risk youth through its grants and programs since its inception. He also continues to maintain a strong relationship with St. Vincent’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, which in 2007 was renamed the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent.
